This role will lead Employee Relations (ER) and Policy for HSBC across HSBC Continental Europe and will be focused on guiding ER teams/points of contact to deliver a fair, consistent and transparent approach to people but one that also helps to drive performance and success for the HSBC Group.
Tasks and responsibilities of the job holder may include the following:
- Leadership of Employee Relations (ER) and Policy specialists in the delivery of ER & Policy support for HR teams, businesses and functions in France
- Close liaison and engagement with internal stakeholders 
- Monitor and oversee compliance with Group ER and Policy principles
- Advocate in development of Group policy, ensuring balance between Group and country priorities
- Provide oversight of, and act as a point of escalation for, all conduct issues in HBCE and engage appropriately with Regional Europe ER on the same 
- Create HBCE ER and Policy forums across all Branches to support development of a global ER and Policy model and connect and develop ER specialists/branch points of contact
- Responsibility to support and liaise closely with the Regional ER European Works Council (EWC) lead on any EWC matters impacting HBCE countries.
- Responsibility to support and liaise closely with the Regional ER Personal Conduct and Whistleblowing lead on personal conduct cases (PCC) and whistleblowing matters in HBCE. 
Impact on the Business/Function 
- Develop, implement and maintain Employee Relations strategy and policy across HBCE that fully aligns with Group ER strategy and which takes account of internal and external local requirements 
- Influence Group ER policy by providing input to ensure policies and frameworks are fit for purpose with regard to local country, legal, regulatory, and market practice with a focus on simplify ways of working and policy to create a positive employee experience. 
- Act as the Senior ER Leader partnering with senior line management, providing stewardship, challenge, advice, monitoring and reporting on employee relations matters. 
- Manage complex ER and whistleblowing issues and investigations in France and HBCE cases allocated by Regional Europe ER whistleblowing lead, acting as a point of escalation in HBCE and coaching and developing ER colleagues, HR Business Partner colleagues and senior management on the effective resolution of complex ER matters. 
- Act as the point of contact for Regional Europe ER for consolidation of feedback on HBCE ER matters 
- Lead development and implementation of selected Group ER projects as required. 
Customers / Stakeholders 
- Strong partnership with HBCE Head of HR Advisory and HBCE Heads of HR to develop and implement clear ER policy and practice and support effective resolution of complex ER matters. 
- Strong collaboration and support to Senior ER lead International Europe (the Regional EWC, PCC and whistleblowing lead) and the Regional Head of ER, Europe & MENAT. 
- Relationship building across internal functions to ensure effective and clear handoffs relating to ER matters. 
Operational Effectiveness & Control:
- Manage the processes, infrastructure and resources needed to deliver agreed team plans and targets, identifying and implementing improvements and collaborating with colleagues to maximise end to end integration, effectiveness and efficiency.
- Maintain a robust and efficient control environment across HR to ensure good operational, financial and project management and compliance with HSBC policy and procedures, together with early identification and effective resolution or escalation of issues that arise. 
- Lead the development, implementation and maintenance of HBCE ER management information, analysis and reporting framework that supports and informs timely and effective business management and decision making at all levels.
- Lead the implementation and oversight of ER policy and governance frameworks, procedures, practices and standards to ensure quality, effective risk management and regulatory compliance in liaison with Regional ER.
- Improve compliance and audit status of ER function.

Profil recherché
Profil recherché : Certifications, Qualifications & Experience
- Experienced Employee Relations Specialist or Employment Lawyer with proven track record of leading teams across multiple jurisdictions in a complex organization.
- Ability to articulate complex concepts clearly and concisely in French and English both orally and in writing. Fluency in another European language also an advantage.
- Ability to analyse and use data 
- Comfortable with ambiguity and with leading and driving change
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills 
- Excellent attention to detail
- Strong, values led leader
